Nokanda for Business user guide

Nokanda for Business is the web portal businesses and organizations in Rwanda use to buy MTN airtime and EUCL electricity, and to keep the paperwork that comes with it: EBM receipts, statements and reports. This guide walks you through the portal, from creating an account to exporting your transactions.

The service is free to use; you only pay for the airtime and electricity you buy. If anything is unclear, talk to us on the support page.

Getting started

Create your personal account

  1. Open the sign-up page, or click Get started on the home page.
  2. Fill in your Names, Email address, Phone Number and a Password. Use a Rwandan mobile number — the verification code is sent to it.
  3. Click Sign up.
  4. Type the code you received into OTP Code and click Verify Account. If nothing arrives, use Resend OTP after the countdown.

You can also sign in with your Google account instead, using Sign in with Google on the login page.

Register your business

Once you are logged in, open Institutions and click Add new. Fill in your business details — the registered Name, the TIN Number, an Email, an Address and a Phone Number. If an agent referred you, put their code in Referral Code.

Make sure the TIN is correct — it is the number your EBM receipts are tied to. After you submit, our team reviews the application and gets in touch to finish the setup.

Join a business somebody else registered

If a colleague has already registered the company, ask them to invite you instead of creating a second one. The invitation appears under Invitations when you log in. Open it, click Accept Invitation, enter the code you were sent and confirm.

Signing in and resetting a forgotten password

Sign in from the login page with your Email or Phone Number and Password.

If you forget your password, click Forgot password? on the login screen, enter the email or phone you registered and click Send verification code. Then type the code together with your new password and click Update Password.
